Adventures in renovating
Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by. We are so excited to announce that we have officially met all of our building code requirements and have been granted our permit to legally host public weddings and events!! As is usually the case this project turned out to be so much bigger than we thought it would be…but we made it, and we couldn’t be happier! We still have some finishing touches, and there will always be more projects to tackle, but everything structural is complete. We can not wait to show you the finished product! (More on that in the next post)
Here are just a few highlights from some of the major updates.
Our good friend Brad putting the finishing touches on our new slab. Excellent work Brad! (This photo was taken only moments before our kitty ran right through the middle of the wet concrete, not cool kitty…not cool)
Adding some lovely mulch to the front of the barn. Just you wait, it’s going to be so pretty!
And our biggest challenge yet! moving a 30 foot deck to the East side of the barn. Good work guys, I wasn’t sure it could be done. They finished putting this bad boy together only hours before our first wedding of the season. It turned out amazing, kudos to Tim on this one.
Sheet rock delivery. We now have a newly installed insulated ceiling on the lower level of the barn. It sure stays toasty warm on chilly evenings and the insulation really does an excellent job of dampening the sound from all the party people upstairs.
We want to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped us along the way. We never could have done this without you, and we are so grateful for your support. We are very fortunate to have such a diversely talented group of friends and family, you guys are amazing.
It has been an adventure and we cant wait to show you all how it turns out…. Stay tuned!!
